@8.00pm

Emerging in the UK in the 1980s as a leading MC on the legendary Saxon Sound system, he became widely recognized for his rapid-fire delivery, sharp lyrics, and unmistakable voice, helping to define fast-chatting as a cornerstone of UK sound system culture.

After releasing his first album 'Is It Really Happening to Me' on Greensleeves Records in 1986, he shot to fame with several #1 hits in the UK and around the world, including 'Hello Darling', 'Raggamuffin Girl' and 'Superwoman.'

As one of the first reggae artists to land the UK Singles Chart, Tippa Irie broke barriers and brought Jamaican-rooted music firmly into the British mainstream. In 2005, Tippa was nominated for a GRAMMY® for Best Rap Song for a tune he wrote with Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas called 'Hey Mama.'

In 2023, following the release of his much-anticipated 18th career album 'I'm An African', Tippa released his autobiography titled 'Stick To My Roots', named after his 2010 hit single of the same name. His autobiography claimed #1 spots on several Amazon UK bestseller lists and continues to be highly acclaimed.
